Intraoral non-surgical facelift massage

Including Celluma LED, intraoral buccal massage, facial cupping and gua sha

In my facelift massage sessions I address many systems of the body to give you a fresher appearance and healthier skin and muscles through the neck and face area.

  • Increases circulation, allowing the body to pump more oxygen and nutrients into tissues

  • Stimulates the flow of lymph, the body’s natural defense system, helping to reduce puffiness and speed up general detoxification of the skin

  • Speeds skin cell turn over

  • Increases cellular ATP (cellular energy) especially using the Celluma LED

  • Relaxing muscles that create jaw or facial pain, tension or headaches. Remember, I’m a TMJ massage expert!

  • This can be a great maintenance session once we have done the larger TMJ or muscular headache work

Steps and techniques I use in a 90-minute facelift massage session

celluma face lift massage austin

Celluma LED

30-minutes running the Celluma LED device for the face and neck. See bellow for contraindications. There are three setting you can choose from, each setting does utilize some of each wavelength:

* Anti-aging mode. Red light is the key mechanism in the activation of mitochondria, the powerhouse of cells, which increases cellular energy (ATP) production. This boost in energy enhances cell function and repair, leading to increased collagen and elastin production.

* Pain relieving mode. More near-infrared waves are used which can target 1” into the tissues for more cellular repair. Great for those with TMJ pain and muscular headaches.

* Acne fighting mode. LED blue light therapy can kill acne bacteria

Hand and foot massage

When the Celluma LED light is working on your face I massage any combination of hands, feet or abdomen. Abdominal massage is great for digestion issues, moving lymph or endometriosis pain.

Facial cupping and lymphatic drainage

Facial cupping addresses the lymphatic drainage. This can reduce a puffy look and add to the lift and tone that you are looking for in a sculpted facial appearance. Facial cups are much different than body cups which can leave large bruises. Facial cupping is more gentle and done in small gliding motions so no bruises are left.

Gua sha

The gua sha stainless steel tool is used to further work on fascial restrictions and tight muscles. By doing that it can target the deeper wrinkles.

Intraoral buccal massage

Through massage I treat the mimetic muscles that give us facial expressions and the masseter muscle. In the facelift massage routine I am not treating the all the TMJ muscles but the nervous system is relaxed and can influence those. The Celuma LED will bring blood flow to those muscles as well.

Other prep & TMJ questions you might have

Please come with makeup free skin (we can work around mascara). Be freshly shaven, this is not a treatment for those with facial hair.

For muscular relief and lymphatic help you should feel the improvement in one session but I’d recommend regular maintenance. In my treatments I combine the power of Celluma + the hands on manual work. My current recommendations for improving fine lines, contouring the face, addressing smile lines and lifting the jowls is once a week for 4 to 6 weeks then maintenance visits of 1 to 2 times a month. To speed your process, I am considering renting out my second Celluma device for at home use. If you’d like updates on that please let me know.

I will be working on muscles of the neck, scalp and face and use some oil for this session. You might want to bring a hat if you are self-conscious running errands with bed head.

For my TMJ treatment clients, know that this session is more esthetic in nature. We are working the masseter muscles and all of the muscles that makes facial expressions. This will address a lot of facial tension and lift the mood but not feel like a structural TMJ session. In your session we’ll have option to run the 30 minutes of Celluma light therapy on the pain relieving mode.

The science behind Celluma LED light therapy

Light therapy works by emitting particles of light (photons) at specific wavelengths like red and near infrared light. See image below for the options my machine can emit.

In our cells, light energy is absorbed by photoacceptors in the mitochondria. (link about mitochondria & Celluma)

The resulting elevation of ATP (adenosine triphosphate), or cellular energy, is used to power metabolic processes to repair or regenerate cell components and foster mitosis, cell proliferation, and restore homeostasis.

I want to still look like myself, only refreshed like I just had a vacation! And I don’t want to use toxins like Botox.
